Event Participant Status
Every participant in an event must have a participant status. The participant statuses for events for your organisation are maintained by your organisation's administrator - see Organisation Settings for Events.
The exact names of the statuses assigned by your administrator will vary - they may include such terms as ', 'Registered', 'Attended', 'Interested' or 'Cancelled'. However, every status has an associated attribute marked as 'Active Participant' or 'Inactive Participant'. In various places in the events part of the system you may select all participants or only the active participants. This allows you to only administer those participants in an event who are active - for example, to change their status after the event from 'Registered' to 'Attended', or to only send the final details to the event to all those who are active participants.
Participant status is assigned when you add a participant to an event - see Members taking part in an event - Event Participants for the usual method. However, it can also be assigned by other methods, such as when the member joins a group which is associated with a Group Event - see Group Events.
Event Roles
Every participant in an event may optionally have a role, which is assigned or edited from the Event Participants screen - see Members taking part in an event - Event Participants. The participant roles for events for your organisation are maintained by your organisation's administrator - see Organisation Settings for Events - and may include terms such as 'Organiser', 'Helper' or 'Attendee'.
The Role is purely documentary for the event participant, no processing takes place within the system for Event Roles, other than their storage.
