Backup of your organisation's data
Main help index
Members-Systems maintains regular backups of the data in its systems and takes every precaution to maintain your data and its infrastructure in an accessible state for you to use. See the FAQ article How secure is our data? for more details of the precautions we take with the storage of your data.
However, organisation administrators may also wish to take their own precautions for backup of their organisation's data. You may want to this especially before making major changes to the structure or contents of your organisation's data.
Two methods are available to you for backup of your data.
Exporting your Member Data
You may export the data associated with your members, in CSV format (at present) for all of your members from the Export Members page - see Exporting member details for details of how this is achieved. Note that at present, not all data associated with members, such as Awards or Groups, can yet be exported in this format.
You may re-import the data, as you wish, up to the limit of your licence using the Import Members page - see Importing a Set of Members for more details.
Making a full backup of organisation data
Organisation administrators may also make a full backup of all the data associated with your organisation in the Members-Systems XML format, which can be downloaded as a file onto your own computer. This will backup all the data associated with your organisation.
You can perform this backup from the menu item Organisation Admin|Backup Organisation Data.
However, to maintain our system's integrity we do not provide a method for organisations to restore their own backups. If you wish to restore a backup that you have taken with this method please contact support with the original, unaltered backup. Note that changes made to your data on our systems after this backup was taken will be lost once your backup has been restored by our engineers.
