Help Topic: Registering a new organisation in our system

To register a new organisation in our system, click on the Register New Organisation link on the main page. This will take you to the New Organisation Registration page. You will need to have the following information available, before you click on the "Create New Organisation" button:

Organisation Name. This name will appear on all your web pages and also in many of the messages that are sent out by the system. It must be a unique name within our system.

Organisation Type. You may, if you wish, select a type for your organisation from within our pre-configured options. These organisation types, such as The Scout Association in the UK, allow awards, group types and membership types to be in a standard format. We will maintain the awards and membership types within these organisations when they update, or make additions to, their working methods.

User Name. You must give us a user name, which has to be unique within our system. This user will be your organisation's initial administrator. In a future enhancement we will also allow the use of OpenId digital signatures.

Password. Every user name and account must have an associated password - please enter your initial password here. We recommend the use of a strong, not easily guessed, password of at least 8 characters, including numbers, upper and lower case characters and punctuation marks. we will never ask you to give use your password by an email message or by any other means - you may take such messages to be a scam of some sort. Email Address. You must give us your valid email address for the organisation here. This will be the email address which we use to communicate with the administrator of your organisation, although this address may be changed from within the system once you have logged on. It will also be the address we will use to ask you to confirm your registration.

Agreement. You must enter the random characters where requested at the bottom of the screen and you must also check the box to indicate your agreement to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

What happens when we press the "Create New Organisation" button. We will check that the names you have given meet our requirements and add your organisation into our system. We will then send an email message to the address you gave above which will contain a link into our system. You must click this link within 72 hours of registration to confirm your organisation's registration. If you do not click this link within the time period, we will remove your organisation from our servers.

After you have confirmed your registration, you may start using our system by adding members, organising them into groups and communicating with them. We strongly recommend starting by updating your organisation's settings, especially those regarding email servers. See Organisation Settings for Email.
